What's the best Tesoro to sniff out gold chains that others miss?

What machines have you had success in find the chains, old or new models. And what depth
were you getting?

Thinking about building a new water machine to sniff out the gold chains after the big stuff is removed.

you might laugh that compadre is quite a contender, i've gotton a few with mine before and maybe 2 or 3" deep
Phew! I thought I was the Lone Ranger on this topic. I might add that my Compadre found a gold chain WHILE I was rejecting paper clips and small iron! It's totally unbelievable and I thought everyone was kidding when I ran across my first gold chain in a tot lot. I took it home and had to RUB IT ON THE COIL of my Silver umax to even get a scratch.- in ALL METAL! It was just under the pea gravel and since I've only had it a month or two, I haven't had a chance to obtain depths-they don't come all that often.

when i had my silver a couple years ago i got a very fine silver chain at a ski area parking lot once and the signal was quite broken but i dug anyways and could'nt believe that i had found it

The Tiger Shark is a great chain machine. At fresh water beaches go right from the dry sand to wet and then in the water. It is a thing of beauty. I have a Minelab Sov and Excal that cannot touch the chain finding ability of the Tiger Shark.

Best regards,
Steve

Have to go with the Compadre on this one too. My Bandido uMax gives a scratchy signal on small gold chains but the Compadre is much more consistent and a more positive signal.

if your talking tesoros in disc mode you would best look at modding out a Tejon. that and the shadow X5 are the two I found the most small gold earrings with.

if you dont have to have a waterproof detector, just want to wade, the Vaquero with the lobo coil(control box wrapped in plastic and put in a small bag to hang around your neck) is an excellent option and hits small gold almost as well as the Tejon, just not as far away.
