Whats the best coil ???????????

For "all around" I'd say the 5.75. It's got better depth and coverage, but still small enough to be useful in pretty heavy trash. The 4" is good where moving between rocks, probing corners in old buldings etc. and down right surgical in trashy areas, but takes a second for coverage and depth in my opinion. They're both great to swing, however. You hardly know they're out there.

Used my 5.75 yesterday at an old swimhole....forgot how deep/precise it is!
I was digging quarters 6-8" at less than half throttle (sens) on my V.
I have never used the 4" but dont see why i would ever need it.
I was in a place that had junk metal 2-3" apart, the 5.75 seperated all with Disc. at pulltab.
I dont go gold prospecting ,as theres no natural gold here, like the post says above the 4" may be better suited for that.

I like the 5.75 coil the best. The 4" just seems to have a depth loss a little more than I would like in some situations for my hunting.

Pretty much is determined by the type of hunting you do. I pretty much agree with what has been said. The 5.75 is a better all around choice. Personally I prefer the 7 inch but that is a personal thing.

I'll side with Pap as I use the 7" concentic a big share of the time. The post, however, started with the 4" versus the 5.75".
