What's the Advantages? FZ 12 over the 10-1/2" CZ coil

I was wondering if anyone has experience with both these coils does the FZ 12 out perform the 10-1/2" coil? If so by how much? And is worth getting one?

I had the 10.5 inch coil for so little time that I did not do a comparison and did not really get to know it. A few years back I got a FZ-12 in a package deal with a CZ-5 and other coils. About two weeks after getting the package, the CZ-5 and the 10.5 inch went to a new home. Did learn that the 10.5 inch has a lot of water drag. The FZ-12 can hit the skirts of the water and not get the detector drug out of my hands by the waves.

Wish I could help more, but not enough time with the 10.5.
Cheers,

being conservative.

I spent 5 years using the 10.5" CZ coil and did well with it on my CZ 5 and CZ7...and 2 years on my CZ70pro.

I then bought a new FZ-12 coil and was hitting silver coins a full 1" or more deeper on a regular basis.

The problem is that they are very expensive IF you are lucky enough to find a used one.

A second problem is that you will not find a new one.

A third problem is that some people buy them at $250 used only to try and drive the price up and attempt to sell them in the $275 to $300 range.

The going rate on the last 3 to 5 I have seen offered for sale used is $225 to $250...and I would NOT HESITATE to pay that for one.

Price gouging and placing them at the $300 range though is out of line in my opinion.

I have TWO and would NOT part with either just in case one of them would "crap out".

ANY CZ with an FZ-12 coil on the end of it is one of the deepest seeking silver coin hunters on the planet...and that is my honest opinion.
