im pretty new to meatl detecting.i have a bounty hunter 505,but my father and law gave me a whites classic sl.i was thinking about selling them both and getting a better whites.the sl was only used 2 times and is in perfect shape,was wondering what a good price is to ask for it,i appreciate any feed back,thanks

you have a great detector I would save it. It may be older but a great detector. A better question you should ask is if people think its a good detector worth keeping and learning. I would keep

Yep, just sold my vx3 on ebay. I got 25 bucks more than I was asking for it on the forums, but it cost me $70 in fees. But since i didn't have to pay shipping that saved me $20. So all in all i lost $25 in the sale.. +$25 sale, -$70 fees, +$20 shipping....clear as mud?
Honestly this time it was worth it as i had two people from the forums back out. 
What a pain.
As for your detector, i picked up a sl classic (1) in trade for a lesche digger, but that was kind of a lucky deal. My kids use the heck out of it and it's actually pretty sensitive. Throw a hundred bucks on it and see where it gets ya! That is if it's a Sl Classic 1, hard wired coil, one knob? If it's another model then it will be worth more....
