Graig you fart smeller.......i mean smart feller you got it right again.It's was a pot scrubber befor steel wool.Tonight's should be pretty EZ as you can see it opens a little. Thanks all for playing and Good Luck
 
It's a match holder for lighting candles or hard to reach lantern wicks. You put the match in the end and slide up that spring looking thing. Light it and go! I think I've actually owned the same thing. Is it from candlelight?
