What's in the water???

Lots of pennies, that's what!! And a nice bit of bling too!! I got up early yesterday (nothing new there, I'm always up early) and headed for a lake to the east. Armed with the ATP mounted on a Plugger straight shaft with the 5 x 8 coil and Grey Ghost Underwater 'phones, I was ready!!!

There was a pretty good breeze so the water was kinda choppy, but pretty good conditions overall. I was sure that the contributors over the Memorial Day weekend should have lost some gold for me to find, but I didn't find any new drops. I did find a Nitro pretty soon that got my heart pumping until I looked at it closely...dangit!!

But I kept at it, scooping those wretched pennies and eventually getting another ring. At first look, I thought it was a junker, another in a long line, but when I inspected it while taking a hydration break, I saw "Ster" inside. OK, silver that's good. But when I got home and cleaned off the crud, I saw "12K Ster". Gold!! Eureka!!

It's only a tiny bit, 2 yellow gold leaves and a Rose gold tiny rose, mounted on a silver ring, but it's gold!!

Here's the Nitro and the little ring!!

And the ring!!

And a closeup of the tiny bit of gold!!

And let's not forget those pennies!! Here's the total take for 5 hrs. in the water!!

And, BTW, the ring fit on BigCatMomma's ring finger and is in her collection now. Dangit!! Oh well, she makes it look good and will be showing it off at work today!!

Now that I am taking up water hunting, maybe I can increase my chances of finding real silver and gold rings. BCD - Nice job on the finds!

Nice finds.Congrats !
The gold ring looks delicate. A beauty.

Once you pull up that first gold ring, you'll be hooked and there will be no turning back. The water is where it's at, no doubt!!

how do you like the grey ghost headphones.i use the sun ray pro's now but wondering about getting them wet.

I've never used the SunRays, have heard they are pretty sweet but to answer your question, the GG Underwaters are great, Nice fit and pretty comfortable for all day use. Check out the GG Amphibs that Barry Extreme Detecting is coming out with. Seems they did some improvements on the regular GG's. I've got a set coming and can hardly wait!!

Glad your patience paid off with that beautiful ring! Would you mind commenting on the plugger shaft? I'm pondering making the switch.

I prefer a straight shaft myself. They give you better control over your swing and are better balanced. They are adjustable so you can get your arm in there just right. The Plugger comes with a Whites lower shaft and an aluminum arm cuff. I ordered the little stand for it, but moved it behind the cuff and used Magic tape to keep it on. I kept hitting it on my leg when it was mounted below the hand grip like they show. I wish they did a better job on the bend for the control housing, it's crimped and not real attractive but it doesn't affect the strength of the hand grip and housing mount. The coil cable on the ATP is kinda short and I needed to use more Magic tape to secure the cable properly. Anderson has been threatening for over a year to come out with a shaft, but it has yet to materialize. I have 2 of their shafts for my Excaliburs and they are the top of the line. I'm about to give up on them and just bey a couple more Pluggers for my other ATP and At Gold.

Thanks, BCD! I bookmarked the plugger, may have to give it a try. I keep thinking that I could make one, but it hasn't happend yet - sometimes it's more expedient to just plunk down the $$ and be done with it.
