Some pick up a detector and perform magic with it... It's a great Hobby that anyone can enjoy....no matter the brand , and or model detector they use..

So lets all have fun, enjoy detecting , and making the great finds posts in the category you fall under... Good Luck to all........have fun.
Keep the great posts coming.........We love reading success stories...

Hi Elton,
I have five different brands of detectors, some more expensive than others, but I love them all...it also means I can legitimately go on 5 different forums. LOL.

Hello elton. Hey I've never owned a detector that I was unhappy with. Yes, even a Garrett GTA1000.
I've owned some I liked better than others, but none I didn't like.. My favorites were a Compass Judge 2, the GTA1000, a Tosoro Golden Sabre, the Big Bud 220D (I still use it) and the Tosoro LST I just bought. It'll be fun to see what others favor. Good topic, Ron.

I use my Ace 250 for wide open places with trash. I use my Silver umax for wide open spaces that I have kept clean by removing the trash. I use my Royal Sabre w/4" coil for the impossible trash sites with numerous tabs. I use my BH Walmart version of the tracker for moderately trashy places that are small and enclosed (I installed a 4" coil on it.) Every once in a while I'll get my old Garrett Hunter bfo and search the tot lots looking for gold while overlooking paper clips, hairpins, and some tiny nails. My Freedom III sits in the living room forever as a relic because of the 3 batteries required. My BH Jr. sits in there with it, until I feel like going out to show others that getting out there is more meaningful than what superdetector you may have. My GTA 300, Compass Coin Hustler, Wilson-Neuman, Tracker IV, BH RB3, all bit the dust because I HAD to tinker with them. I sold my CZ-5 because my arm collapsed after using it over 5 hrs. straight. My AH Pro is gone because I was stupid enough to sell it. I fondly remember my Compass Coin Magnum which was the strangest detector I have ever owned. I probably could have placed higher in the First ever Metal detector Competition hunt with my Garrett American TR. I found that by holding the retune button in, the detector would SLOWLY retune automatically and stay at the threshold longer. I was one of the top contenders the first day. For some reason, I decided to go hunting at the grounds and left it in Tabs mode and forgot to change it the next day. I did win the speed competition at a local club hunt with my Freedom III- I finished the last field (3) before the others left the first! The D-tex Tiny-tec was my first ever metal detector. Whew! Enough for this post- I've owned nearly a 100 at some point and time. Sorry for the long post-just going down memory lane.

I use the E-Trac atm...I have a SE still i used before the Trac...Im looking to get a excal 2 to try some water detecting..Ive owned garret and an old whites..Had fun with them all..Love my current detector.Have fun...HH

I've enjoyed and found many good things with every detector I have ever owned. I have had Whites, Garretts, Tesoro, Fishers and Teknetics. My best and most recoveries, though, started when I got the cz6, then the cz3d, a F 75 and a T 2. No, no Minelabs, for no particular reason, other then perhaps I wanted U S made. There are great detectors at every price point and the best are those that one gets to know and learn well. HH jim tn
