What's going to replace the CZ20?

Now that Fisher has discontinued the CZ20, what is in line to replace it? The 1280 is a dinosaur. I have two of them, but know my CZ20 is lots better.

Hi,

I'm thinking nothing. Fisher dropped the Impulse and I don't think they will replace one PI unit with another. The CZ units are supposedly being discontinued due to lack of parts. I'm not buying it, as they still make the 3D. For saltwater use a PI or multi-frequency unit is best... the CZ-20 was one of the best because it was dual frequency. I guess Fisher could stick an Edge in an underwater box and replace the 1280 but I do not see how they will replace the CZ-20 and actually have a better unit. Perhaps they are just abandoning the underwater market.

I'd just as soon see the CZ-20 reintroduced, but make the nickel mid-tone so that mid-tone means gold. As the CZ-20 stands now gold could be both high or low tone, somewhat defeating the purpose of having the tone in the first place. Add the 4th tone, so the tones would be more like on the Excel/Edge. And give the operator a way to get out of salt mode for freshwater hunting. I'd buy one tomorrow. Really want to make it great offer interchangeable coils like Tesoro and Garrett do. Bump up the retail... I don't care. I'd still buy it.
