I'm about midway up the learning curve with my XS1, and just started playing around with Iron Mask. (It worked--I Dug a Merc with a hunk of iron next to it) But, when I tried to turn off Iron Mask (using "Iron Mask" button), the "Advanced Smart" screen would be blank--as if I had cleared all of my selections and was hunting with no discrimination. If I hit the "Detect" button to move to the "Advanced Digital" screen, it wouldn't register numbers when over a target (audio signals were OK). The only way to get it working again was to cycle around completely with the "Detect" button until I hit either "Advanced Smart" or "Advanced Digital" the second time.
This has happened several times in the field, but as I sit here, trying to reproduce the problem at home, I can't. Any Thoughts? Thanks, Dan
 
I have seen it happen too. It's probably a software glitch. I've only ever had to play with it a second to get it to cycle out right. I don't hardly ever switch out of iron mask anymore (just bump it up/down) so it not the problem for me it used to be.
