Hey guys this Safari has got me scratchin my head for sure. In my other post I talked about the air test and how it would only pick up a dime at like 4 inches. Anyway I hunted my sisters old house that has been there since 1910. I hunted all day and dug nothin but clad and nothin over 6 inches. Whats the deal? The very first time I hunted this place I dug 4 wheats, one from 1916, and that was with my ace 250! So I figured there had to be silver and that the Safari would find it boy was I disapointed. If theres anybody out there that can maybe shine some light on this that would be great.

Thanks in advance, Josh

Right now Ive just stayed in coin and jewlry with auto sensitivity and high trash density. My threshold is at 9. Pretty much factory settings. Im still kinda learnin the tones and stuff.

Auto sensitivity is pretty conservative. You may want to try manual sens. set at 16 or higher unless the machine becomes too unstable. I've not set mine below 16 yet. I usually hunt civil war relics and set the sens at 18 with only -10, -9, -8 notched out and use conductive tones. I tried a little coin hunting early this morning. Set up in C/J mode and increased the disc. up to +4. Found a few clad and memorials and a cheap silver ring, nothing deep at all, but I will be going back to this spot and hunting for the old stuff as I know it is there under the crap.

Every time I have ever checked my auto sensitivity it is maxed out! Is that normal? I have had to back it off manually on several occasions. Onus

The HIGH trash density setting will result in some loss of target ID accuracy and odd audio responses . . . . . if you are not if a real trashy site (which I would not recommend to learn the machine anyway), switch back to LOW trash density.

Try Manual sensitivity and see if you can get above "15" without it starting to false and chatter.

Also, make sure you NOISE CANCEL at each site as that does make a big difference in performance.

Let us know how these work for you

Thanks Andy Ill try that out. So far whatever the Safari finds my Dads $400 Titan will pick it up too. What does a deep signal sound like with this thing? I dont think Ill be satisfied til I find a signal my dad cant get. LOL We're pretty cmpetitive.
