Garrett Pro Pointer

[size=large]for a hand held unit the Garrett Pro Pointer can't be beat.

This topic (best pin-pointers) will go like hundreds before it, its always a hands down Garrett Pro-Pointer.
I'm not a big fan of Garrett products, but I can't ignore the vast votes for their pro-Pointer!

Is there any thing else good other than garrett pp

Not for the money!
MineLabs tried but I don't think its working out to well.
Many of the others are made in china toys that companies give away as gifts with detector packages.

Garrett pulled this off so well with their Pro-Pointer because of their line of professional hand held security scanners. The pro-pointer is mil-spec and it just works!

The Treasure Mate is supposed to be pretty good,
The MineLabs should be decent,
The Pistol Probe is just to big, to much adjusting, grip angle is wrong,

The Teknetics, Bounty Hunter, and Fisher pin-pointers are ALL the same thing, these fall short of dollar store china toys!

I've never tried a Whites, but in these topics they never come in even CLOSE to the Garrett.

tycearoo Garrett P/P hands Down, Hay do you work 4R Garrett??? LOL, mickfin

It's the Garrett all the way. Check the main forum for a 2 or 3 page thread where some videos were posted. Watch the last or second to last video of the Garrett and Minelab head to head on targets out in an actual hunt. I won't spoil the ending for you... It should be on the first or second page of the thread listings in there.

I have never seen more people on this forum WRONG about a topic. You guys have let me down. He asked for a good pro pointer. The Garrett is a GREAT pro pointer and does not fall into the good category.:twodetecting:

Flyin-Lowe, good point, I agree.

I think you tell Garrett ha spretty effectively cornered the market on pinpointers.

I'd be lost without mine. It increases my enjoyment of this hobby many times over.

I am saying vibraprobe all day long. Just my opinion. It always works and is almost indestructible.

Deep, silent, tough, and comes with quality headphones.

I am going to second Bucksports post and say vibraprobe. Check out treasureproducts.com. Silent hunting. Waterproof to 100ft. Built rugged and tuff. You can drop it and it will not break. I just bought my second one, just so others who hunt with me can experience a silent hunt with a quality pinpointer and because they work. I have had my other one for 2 1/2 years and have put it through the ringer. Works like the day I bought it, flawless performance. I can hunt in the rain, snow and water without the fear of messing it up when it gets wet. Two years ago I had it under water in the ocean, it never skipped a beat. I will not buy anything else. Oh, one more thing, it uses pulse induction. This means it never has to be retuned and will not false in black sand, mineralized soil and salt water. I cannot wait to buy the other probe they make, the vibraquatic. You will never go wrong with the vibraprobe line from treasure products. Whatever you decide, good luck and happy hunting

I second Bucksport in saying vibraprobe 580 from treasure products. I bought my second one just two days ago, because the work flawlesslly in all soil conditions and I needed to have two. I plan to purchase the vibraaquatic from them as well. I buy their products because they work. Whatever you choose good luck and happy hunting.
