Got me a Whites Eagle 2 SL and I would like to know what year it was made. Number on the battery box door is 040588 Does anybody know?

Hey thanks for the info, I haven't got out with it yet I'm looking forward to it. I love the old Whites machines, high quality, thats why there are so many around still. Always good to here from somebody who knows there stuff. Thanks much! 
There should have been a sticker or decal on the left side opposite of the serial # decal located in the battery compartment. It has 4 digits on it. The first and last digits denote year. I have a couple of Eagle Spectrums and they have that sticker/decal. For instance...'9XX4' means made in 1994.
