I currwentlu use the fisher goldbug pro with the larger 9x 7 coil at least I think its a 9x7. I can never remember the three main size coils they. It is the middle coild i'm using right now. Though I also have a 5 or six inch coil but have been using the bigger one.
My other detector is a tesoro Golden umax. I use the 15 inch clean sweep coil on that.
Any detector I use has to be light since I have shoulder issues.
I'm wondering if there is another detector I should try for more depth ? I'm Not saying that I am not going deep enough. I just do not know. But I do know that the parks that I am hunting have a lot of growth in the grass. When you compare the walkwys to the grass you can see that the walkways are 5-7 inches below the current level of the tath of the grass. So I am wondering 2 things here. One is should I try a detector know for more depth ??? The second question is a bit of a quandry. Some of the parks I have been hitting have a lot of intefference from I am guessing cell towers and solar panels. Both which have been added in the last few years around town here.
I 'm wondering if anybody hase a machine that they have used with very little intefference when their other machince was getting blasted by emi while detecting.
What do you all think. Thanks in advance for your answers.

At 19 kHz I can see the fisher being affected by EMI. The Tesoro only runs at 10 kHz so that one is a little confusing. I would look into the Minelab Xterra line of detectors, especially the 505 or 705. You can change coils that run at diff frequencies and it has auto noise cancel. Gl Mike

Hey Jimmy, just gonna throw this out there...reading your post and digesting your skillset/quandry...

You need a light stick? Dont need a screen? Maybe have a look at DetectorPro? super low khz which should whack silver hard!...I have no in field experience or knowledge other than all the youtube vids I've been watching over the Winter...it is a very unique concept a fellow has to appreciate...cant get much lighter than a coil on a stick, and the guts in the phones..
Mud.
