Well since this vacant post hasn't been deleted I guess I'll use it....

you were going to upgrade from a XLT and already have an Brand New Excalibur 1000....

whats the best for Wet sandy & Dry Beaches ...

Blk Sand washes in the desert ..

coin jewelry relic etc....

Im confused. You have an XLT and an Excal, but you plan to UPGRADE??
You have all you need to hunt about anywhere including beaches, am I wrong?
If you intend to go gold hunting, then a Gold Bug-2 would be MY choice for that activity.

The XLT upgrades CZ5,MXT,DFX,or a GTI2500.The water detector the Excalibur 1000 is probably the best, but the CZ20 may be more reliable and better user freindly.

Just go ahead and jump up to the DFX

1. You are already familiar with the menu and the VDI scale
2. Dual freq for cancelling both salt and ground minerals for the beach.
3. Prospecting mode with a 15 kHz freq and adjustable SAT
4. The same versatility you may already be accustomed to with the XLT for coins, jewelry, relics etc.

My opinion.
