Greetings,

My wife and I each have a Sov GT and a Dual Field. We're primarily beach hunters but may wander on dry land one of these days. We like the Excal, but would like to know if theres anything new out there that would augment our arsenal.

Thanks,
SP

Good to see your back SP...I love the Excalibur but If I do go another machine...it would be the CTX, unlimited land and limited low, calm waters.

if u have the sov gt why do u need a excal unless u plan on getting wet ...

excal and sov are the same unit just one is waterproof

For the wet sand, Excal/Sov; for the dry sand and land, Garrett AT Pro.

The sovereign is a much underated machine for land.......it works brilliantly here.Get a smaller coil such as the joey and it will keep up with most inland machines.

Heck, for the price, light weight, ergonomics and speed...try a Eurotek Pro? That there should be one fun dry beach sweeper, and should absolutely kill in the dirt...very underrated for its power...and super comfortable...sounds like you might want to try something thats a hitter, and you are certainly up for the challenge..your hard won beach skills will come in handy when hunting the dirt!.

Thanks for the comments. I went for the CTX, taking her for a spin tomorrow.

You now have the 2 Best Deepest Machines available .....Why look for anything else..My opinion save your money..
I have both that you have and wouldn't change a thing....

I have a GT and CTX and do about 50/50 beach and land hunting. I still love the GT with a 13" Ultimate in both situations most of the time. It always finds something good!

That 13 is a Hot coil....One of the one's I'm using on Excalibur and with some great depth in the wetsand, but she does not like salt water at all....

OBN, yes I usually have to drop sensitivity down to about 12-1 o'clock to get her to settle down if I submerge the 13 in saltwater. It is such a lightweight coil compared to the WOT and stock 10" Tornado. I just tried a 10x5 Treasureseeker from Coiltek this morning hunting in heavily wooded area. It's a keeper for sure and they are submersible now compared to the older Joeys.
