looking into others peoples bedrooms?
This was a question the minister asked us last Sunday. Sick, perverted, etc. were some of the replies he got. He said almost daily WE do that and it doesn't sink in that it takes us farther away from God. We do it by watching TV where they take us from house to house in show after show and if they aren't taking us directly into the bedrooms they leave us just outside the door to hear sounds we shouldn't be hearing and imagining those things we should not be thinking on. If you think it it gets in your heart and "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks."
Even if you happen on a good show that doesn't have the temptations and visual stimulation. in between during the commercials. you are hit hard with seduction and lust through the advertising. Sherry and I don't watch much TV as it is getting more and more disgusting. We don't watch the news daily as all it does is fill the heart with things that are not good. The Bible says:
Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
TV has been getting further and further away from these things. I don't sleep with the TV on except when it is on a Christian music channel where only Christian music is playing while I sleep. I don't need informecials or other 'worldly' things entering my mind while I am asleep or wake up to 'Girls Gone Wild' or the TV yelling in my ears while I sleep that I need this item or this drug or pill, and other trash.
We have a new senior pastor and man he is on the mark and bold. He pulls no punches and speaks the truth. We love him and will certainly feel a loss when we move away from this church.
Reason I posted this is because Betty commented how glad she is to be reminded Jesus is coming back and how things are getting worse and worse. She is right but if you are spending more time watching the news or other things on TV than you are reading God's Word, we are being pulled away from God inch by inch, yard by yard until we look and can't see Him any more.
