what would cause the etrack to read crazy numbers

Make sure you're not around any electrical interference like florescent lights or power lines . If you get crazy numbers at different locations you've probably got a faulty machine.

What kind of crazy numbers are you getting?

Im not sure why but it sure is irritating. Happens to me rarely, seems like just a particular location or area. Usually just in a small area. Have no idea what causes it, I don't think its my machine.

[size=large]I'd chek the coil cover if you use one. if that ain't it then the hunt is on for the problem. chsnging coils helps to narrow down the problem in case you hadn't done that yet.

Depending on the numbers your getting....it could be.....

High mineralized sand in the coil cover
EMI
Loose connections
Iron
Bad coil and/or detector

Transmissions from outer space.....maybe ET is messing with your et.:)
