Hummmm...To me, kinda of a hard call..On one hand, the 2500
is a good box, and you would pretty much be set for anything,
including cache hunting, with the optional cache coil setup.
Also, it's probably as deep or the deepest garrett makes.
IE: if you got money to burn, and want the best they sell,
heck why not.
But on the other hand, I do agree that a 2500 is probably
overkill for just coin hunting. I think anyone would tell you
that the low end 250's will find just about as many coins
as the 2500, cuz most coins are within the 250's depth.
Also, the 250 is much lighter, surely a much faster learning
curve, and much cheaper to boot. So for max bang for the buck
as a coin plunker, I'd get a 250. With all the extra money
you save, you can buy the extra coils, and add ons, and still
come out way ahead. The 250 with the small sniper coil is a
coin plunkin puppy. About like a coin vac..
You can always upgrade to the high $$$ box later if you are
sure you will likely get your moneys worth. With the high
demand of the ace machines, you would likely recoup a good
bit of what you paid on a resale. Or you could keep as a backup..
But any you get are going to be good. I like the 250 as the
low end option. Probably the 1350/1500 as the mid range, and
the 2500 if you really want all the bells and whistles, and
maybe plan to cache hunt some day. It's the cache hunt capability
that is a plus as far as I'm concerned. Other than that, the
1350/1500 are probably about as good.
The 250 is plenty to just plunk coins with. Many of the "long
timers" actually use the ace machines over some of the higher
end boxes, cuz they are so light and easy to use.
