1943 p mercury dime in almost uncirculated condition. i had found several wheaties and just knew the coveted dime or quarter was just waiting for me to pluck it out the ground. i had also come across an old dump area full of blackened old batteries and sheet metal and thought i was onto it!!! all this in my dads yard circa 1981. the coveted quarter came next, an 1873 p in poor shape that ive since lost. id really be interested to hear your replies. i still have that dime too. hh,

My first three were Roosevelt dimes 1952 (S, D, S) about a month apart starting 9/30/2007 ... AND THEN I got a Mercury Dime (1938 S) 2 days before Christmas and only 1/2 mile from home!

What a thrill.

For 2008 I've got one Roosevelt only, another 1952 S.

Goal for the year is at least one more Mercury and also one SLQ (which I like to think of as a "Flying Eagle Quarter" since THAT is the side I really like).

I FOUND 2 MERCURY DIMES. I DUG UP ONE AND HAD NO IDEA WHAT YEAR IT WAS OR WHAT IT WAS. THEN TWO INCHES AWAY I DUG UP ONE MORE GOING BACK TODAY TO TRY TO FIND MORE.. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE....
