I've found coins with my Ace 250 at 8-10 inches.

foot long metal pipe at 2 feet with GTI 2500, 10x14 coil. Big hole it was...

Found a buffalo nickel at 10 inches with GTI 2500 in hot dry summer in packed red gravel, along with a dime in the same hole at 8 inches. Machine bounced back and forth between dime and nickel.

Civil War Confederate Wreath from a Tongue & Wreath Plate in Fredricksburg, Va, on Veterans Day 1997 that was about 13 Inches Deep with the Garrett GTA 1000. Man what a Rush!!! HH...Jesse.

It was a clad quarter at 10-11" And it wasn't with a Garrett, it was with a detector not renowmed for depth: A Tesoro Golden.
I know it was that deep as my homemade digger, "The Badger," is graduated with markings. Resting in the bottom of the hole, thats where it was at.
I thought I had found some colonial piece or maybe an ancient Spanish doubloon, like Les, for all the digging I was doing. When I popped out that clad Washington, I was both surprised and deflated.

This is another topic that gets done a lot. Since I had a deep find this morning I might need to change my answer. This morning (Easter) I found a walking liberty half that gave a nice stong half dollar signal on my GTI 2500 that I almost gave up on. I was down about 10-12 inches when I spotted it stuck to the side of my hole. The 2500 has imaging but sometimes at this depth a flattened aluminum can will trick it. Amazing how deep these Garretts find silver!
