If it doesn't have a date, then what years were they minted.

My oldest coin was a 1965 quarter!!!!

I hope you all can do better than me...:detecting:

1787 colonial Conecticut large cent, which beat my earlier oldest coin of 1794 US large cent by about 30 minutes. I was fortunate enough to get them on the same day. Spoiled me pretty good.

Large cent, no date and almost no details. 3 SLQs no dates. Oldest coin with date is 1918S Winged Liberty Dime.

I need some better sites to find some 1800s coins. I'm hoping I get my first Barber and first Seated coins this year.
Chris

1877s Seated Liberty quarter. It was a target my brother from Florida gave up on and then I pinpointed it and pulled it out.

1842-0 Seated Liberty dime.

Ouch!! Bet he was mad about that. I am still looking for one of those. Only 1 seated coin in my personal found collection. 1876 seated dime. Kip...:)

My answer was wrong. I found a 1909 V Nickel and a 1917 wheat. I was thinking silver. Not much older but a little.

I found a Chinese coin that has the dynasty on it and that is how the date is determined. It is between 1735 to 1795. My oldest US. coin is a 1839 large cent.

My oldest coin to date is a silver French ecu from the reign of Lewis XV. The date on the coin is 1745 . Had a picture of it sent to Mark Parker of Western & Eastern Treasures
he found the information for me and said it is made of .917 fine silver. Found that coin while hunting with a friend in a old corn Field.

From the land of the Bluenose......got three of these in one hole around a lake in Dartmouth a few years ago. How they got here.....um!

From what I've been told and not confirmed is that it is 203AD Carthiginian minted in Ithica!
1919 buffalo nickel and
1919 wheat penny
Nice G4. I have only found 2 Bufflo nickels. The last one was a 1919 too:thumbup:

I eyeballed this coin while in the Netherlands a few years back. It is an Oord from King Philips reign over Holland. I was at an old church and when I looked down on the grass, there it was!

My oldest detecting find is a 1783 Vermont Copper.

Those Carthaginians really got around!
