It was a blustery day in Bermuda yesterday, right out of Winnie the Pooh, but I had the desire to hunt and would not be deterred. I hit Mangrove Bay in the morning for low tide and Cambridge Beach in the afternoon at the high tide. I focussed all of my energies on the shallow water and I was rewarded with a huge pile of trash but also a silver ring that is very wierd looking. Who knows where these things come from when you live in the Bermuda Triangle.
I also made a very interesting button find, the inscription on this old copper button reads 'LEGION ETRANGERE' or en Anglais, 'French Foreign Legion'. Now what the heck is a French Foreign Legion Button doing in Bermuda I wonder, very strange. Of Course, in Bermuda strange is the norm. The coin is a 1941 British Half Penny which I always like to find because it has an engraving of 'The Sea Venture' on the obverse, this is the ship that shipwreck in Bermuda enroute to the Virginia Colony back in 1609. Since they were here they decided they might as well colonize the island and so we have the British colony of Bermuda.

No Sparklers came out of the surf today but I'm going to keep plugging away at it, Wish Me Luck!
