What type sand scoop?

Texasdigger

New member
While browsing youtube MDing videos I saw a type of sand scoop being used with a wooden handle and shovel like scoop at 90 degrees to handle. Is anyone familar with this type of scoop and if so who is manufacturer and where can one be found? If there is a better type what would it be?:please: I am new to hobby and new member to site ( 4/12/08 ). I go to Galveston,Tx south to Freeport,Tx to fish and want to do some MDing on beach while fishing. I use a :fisher:CZ-3D detector.:detecting:

Since nobody has responded....I was at a show this past weekend and there was a guy with those wooden handle types and big scoops I can find out who it was and let you know maybe but I like any good stainless steel scoop that is heavy and built to last....I am afraid of wood.......to each there own.

For beach scooping, I got one from US Plastics (online); it's bright yellow and very sturdy plastic! Great to pass the scoop by the coil to see if my target is within. I've been using it for almost 1 year, with almost no wear on it. (I detect 2 or 3 days each week on Ft Myers Beach). If I remember correctly, it cost about $10. I don't go anywhere without it; I also carry a small trowel, also plastic, but very sturdy for digging into the wet sand and shell surfaces. Happy hunting!

Don't know if this will hyperlink, but if you go to www.usplastic.com and type "scoop" in the seach bar, you'll find it. It's actually $11.49.

Do a search for pro/scoop, I think thats the one your referring to. I am not familiar with that scoop as I use one of the break down travel water scoops from a sponsor of this forum which I would recommend..
