What Type of Detector Is The Explorer?

If there are questions concerning the type of detector the Explorer process uses then check the Internet for US Patent 5537041. The first three pages give a pretty good definition of the various arts used in FD, TD, SF, etc, and other detector. If you will go to page 7 you will find the advantages of the Explorer PI detector over prior art for PI detectors.

The Explorer, Quattro & Sovereign are all a type of PI detector. Not the same as you normally think of a PI but nevertheless a PI. Cody, I continue to enjoy your posts.

Good to hear from you. You nailed it in that we often think of a PI as the prior art. The reason why Candy and Minelab were granted a patent is due to the advantages he invented over the prior art. My guess is we will look back on those old machines like we do the BFO and TR.
