Its one of America's oldest Fairs. Every year they have a Giant Pumpkin contest. I'am sure they have a web site to eyeball.
 
have never known anyone that have actually grown them. I wonder how they would grow down here in South Texas with the heat and the coyotes. The coyotes and feral hogs will tear up a good water melon patch in a single night.

Looks like we might be neighbors , Yes I have run with the crowd at Topsfield Fair but have yet to get one to the ring . My dad had a lot of contact both with 4H and many of the local area fairs doing the announcing from the Cape to Springfield Fair for many years. It has been only the last couple of years that I have gotten interested in the 1000 lb'ers , I have spent most of my time growing the little 100-250 lb'ers for retail/whole sale in the Bridgewater Ma. area.
