Gulf Huntress

New member
I wanted to share with all of you the gift I gave my Pirate for Christmas. I did my best to get his expression when he first saw it. He was speechless at first, and then it was AAWWEE SUUEETTT!!!

I cross-stitched this picture for him. Took some time to make it, but it was well worth the time spent to see his face.

Hey GH Congrats..
Nice nice:clap:
My congrats to the GHTSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSs

It took about two months to make it, with him in and out I had to hide it. Not easy to do when the person lives in the same house. I moved my chair to the other side of the room so I could work on it in the evening while listening to the TV. And yes, he was in his chair watching the TV. Anyways, I added up the stitches and it comes to 14,018 total. There is no black stitches as the fabric is black, saved myself 6450 stitches there. The program I used helps me calculate all this, gives the colors and how many stitches. I have also stitched 2 pictures of the The Last Supper, each one is over 55,000 stitches, lots more detail there, will see about getting a picture of the one I kept put up soon, so everyone can see it too. No, I did not graph that one, I bought the booklet with the pattern and directions. This hobby is very rewarding for me. I am looking forward to loot some beaches somewhere real soon, as I have not been in a long time. The surf gods have missed me, it is time to go say hello!. Take care and God Bless each of you. Thanks for stopping by. HH

Hey Betsy, I meant to reply to you the other day but I got sidetracked.

That is the most awesome present I could imagine...very nice, and a definite "personal touch" type gift that totally fits. Well done!

Well Gulf Huntress that is the perfect gift. Knowing the Gulf Hunter, he will treasure it more than all the goodies he found to date. I think it was a gift from the heart. You to keep it up, so nice to see a couple that cares for one another as much as you too do.

Don't know how I missed this thread ...

TERRIFIC!!! Work of art and work of heart for the pirate!
May you both have good hunting and no hurricanes over your house in 2009.

Love the cross-stitch and she hung it right over my desk, so as a write all I have to do is look up and there it is, MY MASTERPIECE! The picture does not do it justice, it is sensational! Thanks to all who commented, it is greatly appreciated and she DID work very hard and long on this project. I LOVE IT!

OBTW, Bayrat I like your icon! That is how the sharks look in the surf in Galveston, but you can't see 'em so good! I like to swim with them, ARRRRRRRRRRRR!
