Here's a few suggestions of gifts any pirate would like to find under the tree on Christmas morning.

The Pirate Captain's Cutlass - a beautiful ornament over the mantle and handy at repelling boarders

The Pirate's of the Caribbean Trilogy box set - perfect for frosty winter evenings in front of the tube

Fine Sipping Rum - nothing tells your Pirate you love them like Pusser's Navy Rum

Dread Pirate the Game - the best pirate game on the market and fun for the whole family

A Pirate Cruise - plenty of rum, wenches and swashbuckling fun

A Pirate Pin Up - this will warm any Pirate's heart through even the coldest winter

Or you can just get your Pirate the matching Argyle Tie and Sock Set you got him last year, that's always sure to please.

Cheers All,

Could be, but some of us have gone the sober route and rum could dull our gold intuition, no good here, LOL!

I like this one, where can I get one?

Kinda lame, since it is not actually going to loot someplace, but don't knock it till you tried it, savvy?

You raise an interesting question, GH. Which would you prefer 1 oz. gold bars or 1 oz. gold coins? Both items are .9999 fine but is it worth the premium to have your gold in coin form (ie. Canadian Maple Leaf)? I'm thinking exchangeability and tax implications.

Whatcha Think Pirate,

Careful on those coins mate, I believe if you check MOST are NOT .999 fine. Now, numismatically speaking they are a sound investment, but I like the .999 fine stuff and I'll tell you why.....I can look at spot on a daily basis and know right where I'm at, without any gyrations on the Dendritics Calculator. Just my thoughts, but that is how I like to play it. OBTW, most of the coins are about 22K, at least that is the case on the American Eagles. Check it out, but don't let me sway you, get what makes yer threshold rise, savvy?

n/t

My concern is the tax implications of buying and selling bars (clearly and investment) versus buying and selling coins (investment or currency). The taxman always has his hand out, I just wonder if it makes a difference.

Cheers,

BDA

Not really sure about all that, as I do not sell, but someday maybe. They watch purchases and sales over 10 grand on the coin or bullion here. You know anyone who invests that kind of $ on bulliion? I don't, LOL!
