Make "Spoon-Rings" of course! <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">. Sure beats sitting in front of the TV.

I like that Idea! <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Youare so crafty John. Nice looking ring. How do you form it to get it perfectly round?
Bill

Seems like it would be pretty easy too. Just bend it around a steel ring mandrel to the size you want and polish it. Bet it would even work with a fork! <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> HB

HB, you are just too dang smart <img src="/metal/html/glasses.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":geek:">.

They cost around $10.00. Great to have to straighten bent rings and also make all sorts of rings. You pound them with a mallet.

Rad,
A ring mandrill is a chunk of tapered metal that looks sort of like a carrot. Depending on the desired ring size you do your work in the area of the mandrill that fits the size ring you are making. <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin"> <IMG SRC="/metal/html/garrett.gif" BORDER=0 width=33 height=15 ALT="g~">

I figured as much. Just wanted to check. Where does one pick up a ring mandrel? I have a couple of stainless steel tapered punches that might serve just as well. You've got a new hobby now John. You should peddle those and your rings on Ebay. With Xmas coming you might do well.

You can do an E-Bay search for "ring mandrel" and find solid steel ones for $12 or less at any time. They are very useful for straightening rings, sizing rings, making coin rings and now thanks to John, even spoon rings. HB

If you have a propane torch you can buy some silver solder and make some rings & things. Steve in so az

I haven't a clue? They are pretty easy to make. A lot easier then coinrings. Why not try to make one yourself. You need a rotary machine (Dremel), ring mandrel, plastic mallet and a spoon. The rotary machine needs some flat cutting disks and felt buffers. The ring should take no more then an hour to make. Try one and I'll help you work through it if needed.
