does the 'audio on' do for you on the ATPro?
I have hunting in the STD mode most of the time, but would like to move up to the PRO mode.
What do most of you use the 'audio' for?
I have been hunting mostly for jewelry and coins.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. :twodetecting:

Iron audio lets you know if you have a good target or iron. If you are new and want to try pro mode, go to a soccer field or baseball
outfield to start working with pro.

I detect now in Pro mode Zero with "0" descrim. Iron audio off. I hear everything in three tones. Dig everything with a good repeatable
signal until you get the hang of it. Once you have an idea of what the machine gun sounds are in your headphones, things get alot
easier. This takes about a week of hunting in pro zero.

25 cents is anywhere from 81 to 89

10 cents is anywhere from 80 to 83

5 cents is usually 51, 52 if it is repeatable
at 53 still dig it. It is probable a
pull tab, but could be a ring also.

1 cent is anywhere from 67 to 81. Usually over
76 is always a penny, but screw caps come in
that range also.

Everything depends on ground mineralization, humidity
and how wet the ground is.

40's to 47 is gold more than likely. Lets say mid 40's
ins more than likely gold.

Check out the YOUTUBE VIDEO on rings with ATPro
that should really help.

Happy Hunting

Ok, it's for those like me that only occasionally want to hear the iron if they think there might be a good target lying next to iron. On land, I usually run the Iron Disc at 35, Iron Audio Off. If I get a signal that has a slight bump of iron next to it, I'll turn Iron Audio on so I can really hear the good and bad signal more clearly. Some seem to hunt in Zero Disc with Iron Audio on, tried it....way too noisy in iron infested sites for me. And heres a tip: Always hunt for whatever you can find. Ignoring a solid target because you think it might be trash can cost you a great find, perhaps that $5000 gold ring you seek!! Not to say I don't cherry pick once in a while...late in a hunt when I'm tired...easy to do!!

With about 25 hours on the machine, I am using Pro a little more each time but still switch back and forth on some targets. If you want to see an easy example what pro mode will do for you, take a bottle cap and run over it in standard mode, and then in pro mode.

Bottle cap in standard mode, back and forth... BEEP ........... BEEP .............. BEEP. Sounds like a dime or quarter... Damn... another bottle cap.

In pro mode, BLIP-BEEP-BLIP....... BLIP-BEEP-BLIP.......... BLIP-BEEP-BLIP (In general).

At the beginning, pro mode sounds like there's something wrong with the detector, seemingly lots of indiscriminate beeps, bloops and blips. But as you get used to it, your brain begins to filter out the significant tones among all the other tiny blips. And the fewer bottle caps you have to dig in parks or swimming areas makes it all worthwhile. And it's not just bottle caps that pro mode helps out with. That pattern is similar for many types of junk. It's just bottle caps are one of the most common crap items we find.
