I found this out in the desert. It's made of brass and very smooth, like it had been worn for a while before it was lost. It seems to be sand cast in a fairly crude mold and is about 1/2" around and 4" long.

There are no markings on it only a casting line at the end of the round part where the sand cast mold parted. Someone on another forum said it might be tent rope tension adjuster (????)


I'm thinking it is either something to do with horse tack or some sort of military peice. Anyone have a clue?
