I found this where a lot of civil war stuff is found, but I know if this is civil war era or not. It's approximately 2 x 3 inches. Any help would be appreciated

Yes it is worth something. The ones that I saw for sale were expensive ($250) but were in better shape, I would think you could get good money for that if you choose to sell it. Awesome find! :drool:
 
I'm going to sell it. Any pointers on how to clean it or should I just leave it as it is?

Do not scrub it. Leave it as is.
