What Tesoro does not do !

Just thought I would share this observation with everyone which has been
consistent.

Over the past two weeks I called the company (Tesoro) and asked many many
questions about their line of detectors. I actually had in depth conversations with
two people.

In my conversations with both people at the company I specifically stated my
hunting style and what I would like in a detector. I also said that I was not
concerned about price and just wanted to have their recommendations.

On both of my phone conversations we spoke about several models and
never........ I repeat ......never was told that the higher price machines is the
way to go. In fact, I was told .....you don't have to spend alot of money to get
a really good detector. Now that is what I call "honest business" !!

About two years ago I called another well know company and all I heard was
the big push to sell the top of the line product that as over a thousand bucks!

So Tesoro does not try to "hype you" or try to dig into your wallet deeper!

In my opinion they are more deeply concerned about making sure you
get a detector that matches your hunting style and not just seeing how
far they can dig into your wallet! Now that's a refreshing change :)

Thanks Tesoro!

WOW. Thats realy nice to hear in this day & age. For once its not all about the almighty dollar. Hats off Tesoro. Thanks for sharing

Hello!

I would certainly agree!

I guess I will have to also prove to you that the Cibola rocks!
Mine will arrive in a few days :)

the other great thing that Tesoro doesn't do is come out every six to twelve months with a new and improved detector with all kinds of bell and whistles, where the price keeps going up ! I have owned the high end detectors, They just took all the fun out of detecting. Always was wondering if I had the programs set up right ! Since owning tesoro detectors, I have started to enjoy detecting again  :tesoro:

I can surely relate to what you said Craig. I was talked into a very expensive
high end detector and was told it would work great at factory settings right out
of the box. The darn machine was more trouble than it was worth. I spent most
of my time having to go through many endless menu adjustments and was doing
less detecting and not having much fun.

Worse yet .... then a few months later they upgrade the software and more
expense involved. Not worth the headache!

In a few days I'll have my Cibola with a lifetime warranty and I'll be able to
do what I intended to do in the first place. Have fun and find some treasure :)

Just want to thank Larry for starting this thread. When I first started my business, I needed to decide which gold finding VLF machine we were going to use. I whittled the field down to three companies: Fisher; Whites and Tesoro. When I started looking hard at quality, warranties, repair service histories and turn-around time, there was just one company left, Tesoro. I also asked Tesoro to come on board as an official sponsor and equipment supplier after we went with the Tesoro Lobo SuperTRAQ, and I think you should know that Vince Gifford watched and studied our company for a full two-years before he said yes! When you call the factory in Prescott, there is a real good chance the phone will be picked up by the President and Chief Engineer of the Company. Try that with ANY other major electronics company - ANYWHERE!

Terry ... thanks for sharing your comments. I must say that I am most impressed with
Tesoro for the reasons I have expressed. By the way ... I looked up your business
and wow! What a great service you provide for people who want to go gold prospecting!
Next time I am in AZ I will have to come down and visit.

Happy Hunting!

It's actually a smart business move on the part of Tesoro.

By sending their customers to the right machine, they're likely to get a lifetime customer as they advance in the hobby.

Other companies who push their high end equipment will tend to lose repeat business if the customer found it too complicated or the detector didn't do what they wanted.

Maybe these other companies figure most detectorists only buy one detector and then get out of the hobby, so why not push their most expensive units?

Lousy way to do business, but that kind of logic may work to an extent.

they are very nice do deal with

I'm living in Europe and they answered all my questions fast and clear about a year ago, even before owning a Tesoro. For me that's valuable

I love my Tesoro detectors. :)

If your lucky you get to talk to Rusty there in the shop,,,, he is a wealth of knowledge,,,,
