What started out as a SCREWCAP .... :yikes: ! !

... turned out to be much more. Couldnt believe it ! Hunted an old house built around 1920 hoping for silver :ranting: ? Used 5.3 coil - VDI 55 screwcap showing on the display... Was gonna go by it then something in my head said you gotta dig this one because "the signal is just too strong". 5" later this large 14k gold 1976 Sunset La. HS ring was staring at me. :wiggle: Its in 9.5 /10 condition. Initials are in the ring so gonna work hard to find the owner before Christmas. (Hopefully more pics to follow with the owner?) Wont be easy, that HS closed down in the early 80s. Also pulled in some clad, 2 wheats (both 1947d), some type of old brass handle, an old marble and an old Ford key. This MXT Pro has been doing me right !! Thanks for looking. Merry Chirstmas. CCH

Man, that is a gorgeous ring. Hope you can find the owner.

Congratulations EJ, it is a beauty of a screwcap. You might try the library in the school district, they usually keep the high school yearbooks in the reference dept.

Larry,

I have contacted the Parish (County for you guys) School Board Office and they still had the needed records to obtain a name from the initials. Hopefully and with the help of some of my "other" contacts ;), I will be able to track this guy down. I thought you would have liked the old FORD key ? LOL. To be continued . . . . CCH

I love the marble and old Ford key EJ....and the rings nice too. JK Nice score! I've never found a class ring...hopefully you're luck will be contagious..again. Congrats and good luck in the search for the owner. Keep us posted (w/pics)...

WOW WTG and all those other letters.
Nice score on the ring and other trinkets.
I'd dig screw caps all day long for one of those.
Good luck finding the owner and get the pic..

UPDATE - After a good bit of research and several phone calls --- Here's a picture of me returning the ring to the HAPPIEST man in Louisiana. (He's wearing the green jacket) Mr. Quebedeaux hasnt seen his high school ring since 1976. Story is he gave it to his girlfriend/fiance'. Their relationship went sour and she somehow "lost it" soon afterwards. He was absolutely stunned when getting this ring back after such a long time. I was absolutely thrilled to GIVE it back to him. :buds: Thanks for looking. Merry Christmas to you Mr. Q. CCH.

He looks like one very happy man EJ....... and I bet you made his Christmas a very special one.

Who is the old geezer next to him...............

Beautiful...Nice work EJ !!

What a wonderful find and a spectacular ending. I am so proud of you CCH. This is a story for White's. http://whiteselectronics.com/component/story/month_201012.html Isn't it the best feeling in the world when you deliver a ring that's been lost for all those years?! :wiggle: I found a 1974 class ring that was lost(boyfriend lost it) 2 weeks after the girl got it and it still makes my heart pitter-patter when I think of the day I returned it to her. You're the man! I bet your sons are very proud of you also. What a great roll model. Thanks for sharing and HH, Nancy

Scott,
Appreciate your kind words. I am very sure that you're gonna run into one in the very near future. I cant wait to see your post. When I saw that huge chunk of gold ring looking back up at me, you know that I was pretty PUMPED UP !!! :jump:

Nancy,
You're too kind !!! I think that anyone on this forum would have done the same thing . . . or they should have. JMHO.

CCH.

Nancy hit it on the head EJ. Giving your young boys such a clear lesson in character, by example, is a great thing to see. THAT"S something you can really be proud of. Great work !

GREAT job on the return...
It will come back to 10 fold..
