what size drill bit, to make a hole in fiberglass shaft for the spring clip?

I ordered from Kellyco (during the winter) a spare lower fiberglass rod for my sovereign GT. Unfortunately the rod they sent me must be for an older sovereign since the spring clip and its hole is facing sideways instead of downwards like the Sovereign GT. I need to make a new hole and move the spring clip in a down position. Anyone know what size drill bit I need to make a new hole.

Thanks so much in advance.

I recently ran into that also. Mine mics 6 mm, so I drilled it a few thousandths over. The ends of the clips aren't perfectly round so I had to go up to .25 inches (1/4) . Be sure and get right in the center of the shaft as close as you can.
