What size does a squashed screw cap show up at on a GTI?

I usually get 'em at Size B (coin size).

They come in anywhere from 7-ish on the meter (screwcap-gold-zinc cent range) on up into the coin range sometimes (8+).

Once in a while I will dig after something I am sure is gonna be a modern coin because of its depth, and it turns out to be a stinkin' screwcap.

But I don't really find enough of them to be a nuisance. If I go to the beach tomorrow, I'll expect to see some, but I will be digging everything when I go there.

When I'm coinshooting in the parks, I usually go for the older and deeper stuff, and sometimes use the Surface Elimination feature on my 2500. This means I don't dig many screwcaps. (I know, it also means I am leaving behind some rings, but it saves me some hassle, and my ratio of older coins to modern ones is pretty good, usually).

It is good to get some Aussie input as well, as you know exactly what I'm trying to figure out.

You might be leaving behind something older. Years ago I found a coin from the 1700's at less than two inches. I've found half dollars just under the surface.
