Ok people, what should I buy? I had a Garrett 750 Gtax which took a swim if some of you remember reading about it. I have to buy a new one. any suggestions? I want something similar to what I had with the 750.

Thanks
Bryan

If you're looking to buy new, of the available machines, the 550 or the 1350 would be the closest. And if you still have any coils or other parts from the 750, they will work just fine on either. Too bad they quit making the 750 and the 1250, both were sweet machines. I've still got my 1250, my first-ever detector, and I'll never part with it. The 1350 is just a jazzed up 1250 (profiling added) or a bare bones 1500(profiling instead of imaging), however you want to look at it.

I have the 550, and I really like it. It's pretty accurate, and I have found a lot of great stuff with it. I would like the 2500 someday, but the the 550 is perfect for now. Good luck.

As BCD stated the 550 or 1350 would make your day. I have a field test on the 550 at losttreasure.com It's a great little machine and hot on rings. The 1350 is a little more spendy with more features but won't find anymore than the 550 will.

I have a GTAx550 also and it's a good machine. light easy to use and silver rings loud and clear. It's depth is good but I personally would like to have a machine the read gold easier. I've looked around and the 550 is a great buy new or used however if you'd consider some lightly used machines you can pick up some very strong machines for a reasonable price. I was just on the garrett website and the scorpion is very reasonable in price so I would give that one a consideration
