What settings do you use with your T2?

Here is what I was using for a while,
Sens=80
Disc=20
Tones= 2+

Then I switched to All Metal for sites that have a lot of ground debris...stubble, twigs and branches, etc.
All Metal
Hum =0-1
Sensitivity =80
Auto GB

I had been using the Settings above for a while and been very happy, but my friend said I should use Boost, raise the Sensitivity to 85-90 and lower the Discrimination to 10-15 for an extra 2", but I found it impossible with the ground debris.

What are your settings, and why?

For most of my sites over here in the UK i use 75sens,10disc,2+ with the standard coil or SEF12x10 this is mainly on ploughed and rolled fields.

Pasture 75sens,15disc,2+ this is when i use the heavy artillary SEF 15x12

Stubble 75sens,10disc,2+ when using the 5inch in between stubble or junky roman sites

I have found that when increasing the sens beyond 75 you do gain a little extra depth but at a trade off with the detector becoming very erratic so i then have found 75 is the happy medium,my swing rate is slow with a slow forward motion as well as i find this suits my type of detecting i find i dont miss much this way.

As i live miles away from the coast i cannot comment on what settings for the beach,but anyway i would tend to use my DFX if i did go as that would be better suited due to be dual frequancy.

Good point Neil, When I am in a clean open farm field, I crank it up. But in junk areas I tone to what works, That's the nice thing about this machine plus you do not lose much depth in my opinion. lots of horse power is good when used correctly. Don Coco Tyler

Down here in Jersey I have Sens at 75, Disc between 0 and 4 and use 2+ and the T2 does very well, on the beach I use all metal Sens @ 60, -2 and manual GB.

Sensitivity as high as you can bear, Discrimination as low as possible, BP,and dig every signal that is repeatable and above hot rock status (4:geek:. GO slow. If theres too much interference switch from BP to 2+. Of course this is optimum environment settings. The trashier the site the more your going to have to dumb your machine down. Deep Iron will always lie. Buttons come in from the high 40's(Tombacs) to the low 80's(Thick copper). SO I dig everything. It really is a button vacuum. Hope that helps Neil. ALso don't be afraid to throw that 5" coil on. It has incredible depth and is great in trash and Iron infested sites.

Have a couple of questions- What is BP? Is this the same as dp in the tones settings, also I noticed that several people prefer 2+ setting over 3. I use the 3 tone settings but seems like I am not finding much beyond 3-4 inches. Also I read that several people can "hear" deep targets, any comments would be appreciated!
Have the T2 also and love it, finding a lot of clad coins but nothing too deep.
Thanks and HH

BP = Boost Process mode for the Special Edition models. Its a more sensitive version of 2+. Deep targets simply sound softer and less audible so going slow is important. Crank that sens. and lower that discrim and youll go deeper. If you have BP use it! Guarantee youll find deeper targets. Also take advantage of all metal it will find the deepest targets with the right settings.

Looking forward to hitting the field we spoke about...maybe Sunday AM??? I will only have a few hours, so let me know if you can hang up your fishing gear and dust off the T2...
