hi and sorry for my not good english.
I have tried it for the first time this morning.
but I have noticed many false signal in manual
26-24-22 (white's MXT read 50-55 ground)it's normal soil.
the volume with the gain to 6 very low
with the gain to 8-9 it seems ok
but using both iron mask -8 or -10 or without iron mask
the values of the objects in digital are totally different from the 10 original minelab coil
roman object that minelab 10" coil read 80-90
with this coils read 30-40.
it's normal?
thanks in advance for the reply

Not sure on your readings.. I have only used mine a half dozen times so far.. no doubt that I have to lower sens to be stable.. most sites I have tried I had to set it down to 18 or lower in manual to be stable enough that it didnt overyly false, but my sites are pretty much full of iron so that may be the reason for that.. It could simply be your target readings may be different is that you get more averaging of multiple targets with larger coils.. I find the smart screen with the 12 seems to be pretty dead on.. I dont use digital

I used the X-12 on a freshwater beach today. When I went there before, I got no falsing running it hot around 25.
But today, I got constant falsing even with much lower sensitivy. It wasn't the same part of the beach, but I wandered far and wide and the problem didn't go away. It would be a weak high pitch false every foot or so, and the cross-hairs would be upper right corner like a quarter.
I might have to go back to the 10.5. <img src="/metal/html/cry.gif" border=0 width=40 height=15 alt=":cry">

i use smart too
but before i dig check digital too.
sound tone and smart seem to be ok!
