what pinpointer works best with the xterra50 with no interference?

My whites bullseye 120 is on its last legs and I need to buy a new pinpointer to use with my xterra 50. I am looking at the vibra probe and the new garrett pro pinpointer. There seems to be pro's and con's on both of these from what I am reading on the forums. The vibra probe is a pi pinpointer and does cause crosstalk on some model of detectors and the garrett has no way of switching to vibrate mode only and is has a loud buzzer for sound. Not for sure if it crosstalks or not. Has anyone used both with there exterra? Any honest and unbiased opinions would be welcomed.

The Vibra-Probe 560 will interfere with the detector. The 570 will interfere more, and there is the added benefit :veryangry: that the detector will interfere with the 570. I would not buy a 570!

I've used both the Whites and now the new Garrett pinpointer with the XT70. The Garrett won't cross talk. I was one of the guys concerned about the audio on the Garrett not having a switch. But now that I have it the sound is not a problem. A small piece of black electrical tape will quite it down when applied over the speaker. But all I use is my thumb. I love the automatic tuning when you turn it on. Nothing to adjust! It's been the best pinpointer I've used. I got mine for 119.00 shipped. PM me if you can't find a better deal.

I have a 570 + XT70... When I Noise Cancel Auto... I turn on 570 and point it right at the coil... as long as my senstivity is 19 or les (In general) the interference is minimal to unnoticable...

But it can be a minor issue when probling... in that I have to move the coil further away from the target area...

I love the 570 and for me... the inconvience is minor at best...

I had a Bullseye II that the switch went caputz in 6 weeks :-(

Well I still have it... just not working to well :)

My2cents....

My vibra is easily caneled out by noise cancel. It will still interfere slightly when they get too close but it is not that bad to me. I do prefer my pocket probe though.

Does anyone know about the Detector Pro Pistol Probe?

I sold my Vibra 570 because of the crosstalk. My new Garrett PinPointer is totally quiet unless I place it right next to the coil of my X-70

I have the XT70 and the 570 also. When I get interference I do this.... move the coil away from the pinpointer. Solves my problem.

Personally the size and shape is not for me. Anything that looks like a sawed off 410 shotgun is not good. If they make it smaller and change the shape I would be interested.

The only drawback in it is a little bulky but really not too bad. I love my Pistol Probe for my XT-70, it is so very deep but must be tuned with the buttons properly as I know how and then it is "set it and forget it"! The Garrett Pro-Pointer is my second choice. The Vibra-Probe only detects on the tip, I was told. The other two are hot up the shaft. My Pistol Probe is hot up to about 2/3rds up the shaft for side scanning dirt piles and gets a signal on a US nickle at about 5 inches from the tip.

Then there is the Vibra-Tector with a 4 inch coil. I wonder how that one works ??

Another vote for the Pistol Probe...I have a Vibaprobe..the one with the 3 or 4 inch disc on it. I like it but it interfers with both the Xtera and Etrac. If I move the detector away from where I'm kneeling no problem, but. I always forget and then have to rearrange the stuff. Bought the Pistol Probe..problem solved. There's a frequency adjustment on the Pistol Probe that lets you tune it as to not effect your detector...it works. An additional bonus is that it has a good 2 plus, almost 3 inch range in dirt. Love it. Get a Pistol Probe and you'll love it too.... The only thing I now like better is the x1 on my Etrac. If Sunray had a simialar product for my Xtera I'd own it. Good luck.
