Ones that came with your AT Pro
I would like to get a better pair but not sure which ones yet.
I was thinking about those new ones that Barry just posted about
but the more I think about it the more I realize that I probably won't be in the water
that deep anyway. If I do start hunting in water I can always get a waterproof set
but for now I would like to get a good land set.
So what are some of the brands you guys use and do you like them?
The ones that come with the machine just allow too much ambient noise inside don't you think?

I use Grey Ghost and love them!! I also have a pair of Jolly Rogers and like them also!! But the Grey Ghost seem to sound a little better to me.

Thanks Junior
Are you using the adapter or wired them yourself ?
Oh, which model? Dual Vol control?

I've never even used the ones that came with the ATP. I've used them before on other detectors and while serviceable, they leave a lot to be desired. The Grey Ghosts are great. I had a set of the underwater ones made up when the ATP first came out and they are still going strong. Mine don't have a volume control like those Amphibs, but I like mine loud so it's not a problem. I also use Killer B's with the adapter. Excellent sound quality on those also.

BCD: are you saying that you prefer the Killer B's for land hunting? Just curious - I just ordered some inexpensive behind-the-neck phones (Koss P-9's - $8.95 on ebay shipped, heh. Lifetime warranty). I need a hat during the summer heat, and my expensive wireless Auvio experiment last summer didn't work out too well, they only lasted about 3 months. So, I'll go with wired behind the neck ones until someone builds a high quality, no lag wireless set.

They do have a good quality sound and are good 'phones all around. Right now, I have a set that I use with the adapter on an ATP and ATG. The other ATP has the Grey Ghosts and it gets used for both land and water and they have great sound and are very comfortable too. I've got a set of the new Grey Ghost Amphibians coming and they will probably become my main 'phones if they are as good as they say and I believe they probably are. But wearing a full brimmed hat can be challenging with phones. I had a buddy that cut holes in the brim of his hat to fit the phones thru, thing was tho, he pretty much had to leave the hat and phones mated till the hat wore out!!:clapping:

I use the Grey Ghost originals with the adapter from Garrett. Very pleased with them. Joe.

Now there's an idea - cut holes in the hat! Could make a nice fashion statement! :smoke: I sure wish they'd do a behind the neck version!

I sometimes wear one similar to this in the summer, works quite nicely!! I know you don't have any beaches out there, but keeping good cover from the sun is a good idea!! And you can wear your 'phones!
