What my White's QXT Pro MISSED!!! :surprised:

Went to a park I have hunted about 10 times in the past year with the old QXT Pro...I was amazed at what I found on just this one slope that measures about 20x20 feet...I picked all these coins out of that spot, and I had been over that same ground with the White's about 3-4 times before...One quarter and a dime were within one inch of a buried 4' piece of fence pipe. Came through loud and proud with the DD coil...Pinpointing took me a while as I had to figure out which direction the pipe was laying so I could pull the coil away from it to pinpoint...
Still having a little trouble pinpointing with the 6.5x9, but this is only because I am used to round concentric coils...The Ellipticals are gonna take me a while to get used to the drag method of pinpointing...

HH,

I felt the same way after I got my ATP and ran it over some ground that I had used by bounty hunter on. Good hunt!

You know I just checked in here to gather some info on the AT Pro because I would like to have a waterproof machine in addition to my V3i. But if this is the value of the info offered maybe I need look elsewhere. This is far from a good or valid comparison and is a slam on Whites gear! The fact of the matter is - you are comparing old tech vs new tech which is meaningless, so you must mean Whites vs Garrett. I have a buddy that hunts with me and my V3i smokes his AT Pro all the time, but I still think the AT Pro is a solid machine and I am actually considering one for special purposes. But to bag on another brand because you were using an older machine doesn't seem very fair or honest. Mind you I could buy 2 AT Pros for what my V3i cost puts things in perspective and I will happily admit that the extra money does not get me 2x the performance, but it does what I want it to do and that is find more goodies and less trash. That it does well, and is worth it to me. Not all bites are for all likes and isn't it great all machines are different?!?

I had a GTI 2500 before the V3i and would you like to hear some of those horror stories? Not fair to the GTI and I liked it as well, and it will always have a special place in my heart. But it isn't a V3i. But I still loved the GTI for other reasons and none of it had to do with what I have since found in the same places after hitting them with the GTI before.

Now I am not trashing you or your ideas, but I do frown on your judgement a little and I know most sites prohibit "mine is better than yours" messaging no matter how thinly veiled. My point is - love your own hardware, but don't trash other machines because I am certain there is a bigger bully than yours just down the road a bit........ and if you keep calling his girlfriend ugly he may just look you up!

Sounds like U might have a Ugly Girlfriend Shark..:rofl:

Not really slamming White's...Just stating a fact..Your right...the QXT Pro is 10 year old tech...of course the AT Pro is going to do better just by fact of tech advances...I was trying to state that I was amazed at what I had walked over and left behind...I expected to find a few coins on that hillside, but not that much...
I loved my White's. Each detector I have owned has been a step up in tech and cost...Each served me well...I hold no loyalty to any one brand...I go with what works for me...
I also pull no punches, and tell it like it is...I think THAT is fair assessment and more honest than those who just promote their brand over all others, or feel they must because of the money they have invested...I would LOVE to own a V3i...I just do not have those kinda funds.

HH,

The QXT is not only a much older detector, but a very diffrent machine. The diffrence in frequencies is just a start. Tommarrow you could take the AT-Gold (an even higher frequency) and hunt that same 20x20 slope and find good targets that the AT-Pro missed. No such thing as a Hunted Out Site.
