What musical instrument did this come from

I find these around old school's and in some private yard's. It has a D # stamped on it. It's 2 and 1/4" long. I've found them from 1" long to 4" long and over. I've asked some of the older people and they do'nt know. Thank's for any info. AL

I would say it's the remains of a sheet music holder with the metal clamp pice broken off..

I seem to recall something aknin to this on my music stad at some point..

Thank's taz42o Been digging them for the 10 year's i've metal detected an did'nt know what they came out of , now i know.:thumbup:
