Hi I was wondering if there is anyone on this post that knows someone that lives in Hawaii?? Do you know what machines they use in the water and what kind of success they are having?? I was wondering because I wanted to get another water unit but didn't know which one to go with?? Any help is much appreciated!! Aloha

There is water hunter named Sand Dollar who hunts and lives there... last I knew he used a PI..

Most of the locals use Pi's. One local uses the HeadHunter and another local uses the AquaStar with good results. While on vacation in Oahu last August, I used an Excal w'Wot coil. Worked just fine. Expect to get some of the electrical noise near Waikiki beach front hotels with the large coils. It can be annoying at times but just ignore it and the hits will still sound thru the interference chatter.

Hi danny when i was there last time i met a guy in the water detecting he claims to be the ring guru as when i met him it was dark at waikiki and i could see this thing moving along the shoreline i thought it was a turtle but it was him he goes by the web name "little big man" he was a nice guy i have his email address if you ever need it but i did not remember what water unit he uses.terry ps by the way he had 2 rings that morning i gold one silver

Use any machine you want. Minelabs, White's, Garrett or CZ's. I have used them all and they are about equal. The Minelabs has a little less depth than the others but it's discrimination is good. Hawaii is hunted intensly by many so good targets dont last long. Maui can be the most productive of all the Hawaiian Islands.
