WHAT KINDA COIN IS THIS ???? or TOKEN ???

At first I thought the date was 1936 but after I got it home and cleaned the dirt off it the date reads 1736. It is copper with the words BRITAN and NIA. BY THE DATE.
The other side I think says I I REX and GECUCIVS ??? but worn and hard to make out the letters and what they mean ???
Any help with this one ????
