What kind of story would it be if I didn't have a dime in it? lol

Well, I went to two places today. The first I headed up a trail towards an old sledding hill. I wanted to hit up around a big old tree in the middle of the woods. I figured for sure I would pull something out of the area but it was a bust. So off to the sledding hill where I found some clad. Then this evening, I went back to a park near my home. I pulled out two wheats 1941 & 1916, a 1950 Canada penny and a drum roll please.... a 1941 silver mercury dime! lol some day I might just advance to adding a silver quarter to my finds.... to be continued............

Thanks for looking - Jim

Nice old tree. Being a sledding hill it must get a fair bit of snow and ice around that tree - when the thaw sets in its likely that the volume of water will carry surface soil and any targets downhill from that tree... Looking at the pic that path would turn into a stream. Any natural barriers further down from the tree or any place where coins could get plugged might be worth hunting. There could be loads of......{{{ Dimes }}} down there..

Those quarters will come soon.........

LOL yep from now on, just call me dimeman. That is until I find a larger denomination silver coin... I should of clarified more... this is the hill path to get to the sledding hill. The sledding area is over on the other side. Although, I am picking up what you are laying down about the barriers catching all the dimes lol

Hey Jim,
Just kidding.. I sure wouldn't complain about finding merc. dimes on a regular basis like you have been doing lately.
That tree does look like a good spot to me also.
Those silver quarters are pretty scarce around my area although I have managed to get a few.. even got a 1916 Barber quarter and a no date Standing Liberty quarter a couple of years ago.
I did find a Washington quarter at the old park I have been searching with the Sovereign dated 1942 and it was right next to the sidewalk down about 6 inches.
I'm hoping there are some more in there and didn't find this one until many trips there so you probably have some around the areas you are searching, but just haven't got over them yet.
Hope you get one soon and if it is there, I know the Sovereign will let you know.
Good luck,
Felix

Hi Felix,

I am certainly not complaining about the silver dimes it is just it is the only type of silver I find lol. So now (with the help of beachbat) my name / identity is being changed to dimeman lol. I feel you are right about me not "running over" them (quarters) yet. Although rare, they are out there. It must of been nice to un-earth those quarters - nice job! Keep your fingers crossed for me - Jim

Sorry Gunnar you haven't found some more coins in those fields. There is more out there lurking - I am sure of it. Bro, I pray you find a nice big coin spill. Hang in there.
