What kind of scoop for underwater detecting pebble bottom (not scuba)

Hi guys,

is there a solution for underwater detecting on pebbles?
Need some advice on scoop for underwater detecting pebble bottom (not scuba).

Thank you.

Best is SS or Titanium scoops and you have to work the scoop around as your pushing/kicking it in....Back and forth or around in circles,..... Shells, pebbles, rocks, clay, moss, and sea grass all very unfriendly for hunting. I think very thick shells and clay I hate the worse.

Pebbles are larger than holes on scoop...
and rings and coins are lost again if I use scoop with big holes

There are No long handle scoops made that have holes that one would loose a ring or a coin thru the holes. I would suggest you make a sifter so you can dump your dig into to go thru the rocks.

I agree Joe his solution isnt the scoop ...... its the size of the stones that dont sift. Make a sifter, dump the scoop........ check and dump.

Dew

I use sifter always, it's great help for waterhunting. Use waterproof pinpointer fot more help. No sany beaches here, just clay, grave, and shells.

Sifter is floating on water ? :)

A sifter is probably best option but i dont have patience to use one.. steal your old ladys 6 quart soup pot and drill a few 1/4 inch holes on bottom and maybe some 3/8 inch holes higher up ..thats what i did and the scoop actually acts like a sifter only draw back is you can only do one target at a time but i have found the tiniest earing backs ,stud earings ect without having to get out of the water...sometimes things still slip thru so i scoop it up and walk into shore at waterline and work the pile grain by grain till i find it.. if this question pertains to the dryed up lake then just dump contents next to hole and spread contents with your foot till you find it... it will get better with practice....[attachment 321021 20150111_0810072.jpg]

Good video, nice commercial for scoop...
half of ounce = 200$ :)

I have that kind of water (0 visibility) with possible pebbles

Must get one of those suits - for rafting and wading - lower part
