what kind of detector

Hi all, I am just curious about what name of detector to get. My husband & I are excited about getting started with this hobby but don't know what kind to buy. My sister bought her husband a Bounty Hunter IV for Christmas - she said it sounded easy to use & since her husband does have Alzheimer's she thought he might be able to operate it. We want to join them in their hunts if we can and we don't want to spend a lot of money right now. Any recommendations?
