Hello can anyone that uses the golden umax tell me how much depth does the golden umax get in good soil on rings, coins etc..Thank you
for your time and input to this ?..And which coils would be the best to have the 9x8 or 10x12,8"round concentric or can you get a 5.75 coil..

I don't think that the Golden's strength is in depth.

The Golden seems to be designed for discrimination and audio identification. A secondary feature seems to be that it is slightly less sensitive to smaller pieces of metal as this allows it to cut efficiently through trash - however, this also reduces depth by say an inch when compared to other umax detectors. The Golden is very accurate in most cases when identifying targets and you are not slowed or hampered by tiny bits of trash - toss in the notch discrimination and you are able to save even more time.

Another way to think of it... The Golden never, ever gambles - it is the most conservative umax made. It trades some depth for the quality of the information reported.

I really love mine. But I accept its weaknesses because I love its strengths. It is like an old Cadillac - it is not the speed or the gas milage- it's the quality of the ride and the Golden is smooth as silk. The amount of annoyances and frustrations are absolutely minimalized with this detector.

(All of my comments are based off my observations of one, single golden umax.)

I think Topdecker has said it very well. It can take a while to learn to understand what the Golden is telling you, but once I started to understand its language, depth became the last thing on my mind when I use my Golden. HH

I haven't noticed any significant less depth on my Golden compared to my other

 I agree with Tabman ,..no noticeable difference in depth between my silver, golden, or compadre. My Golden gets really good depth in my Oklahoma dirt. LOVE THE MACHINE. :clapping:

With stock coil on Golden, my Compadre goes noticeably deeper on coins. With smaller coil, the Compadre is better in noisier ground.
