The benefit of a racer II over a Racer original (RED)...........

Elton, I think this is a good question for Monte for details.

I know the Racer 2 Adds;
DEEP mode
Notch Filter
Iron Audio
Adjustable tone breaks
And I believe the Racer 2 has expanded audio tone adjustments the Racer didn't have so you can find those tones that are just right for your hearing.

The Racer 2 additions over the Racer that Rich just mentioned, makes it well worth going for the Racer 2, if you can afford the extra cost.

The R2 also has the ability to save settings.

the Racer 2 provides additional design and setting changes, such as:

• The hand-grip angle is changed to be a more typical lazy 'S' curve and not very abrupt like the original Racer.

• The standard 7X11 DD was changed to a shape similar to that used on the Nokta FORS CoRe and FORS Relic models and has the rod-mount closer to the center.

• The Ferrous/Non-Ferrous break is at '40' with the original Racer, and it is at '10' with the racer 2. This expands the upper range of non-ferrous targets which might allow better sepatation for numeric TID of jewelry, coins, etc.

• In addition to the All Metal, 2-Tone, 3-Tone and Beach modes, the Racer 2 also has the DEEP mode.

• Additional adjustment functions on the Racer 2 include: Notch Filter Discrimination; Iron Audio Volume adjustment; Tone Break adjustment; Audio Tone adjustment to select the tone pitch you prefer for each Tone Break range; and the ability to either quickly restore Factory Default settings or Save any and all of your settings for each search mode.

Remember, too, that the Racer and Racer 2 both operate at 14 kHz and share all of the same coils listed on the Makro website for both detector models, so take you pick on the coils you would like to use with either model.

If I was buying new now, for the price of the racer 2 pro pack, I'd just go with the impact pro pack for $50 more.
When I bought mine the impact wasn't here.

Red Racer now has the same grip angle as Racer 2.
Last I spoke to dilek about it, it doesn't. Still on same upper pole assembly.

Ya I was also told that the grip angle remained the same on the Red Racer..........However, nothing that a "Farmer" overhaul can't fix.

Haha I remember you telling me about that Gregg. Lmao good fix!!

It has been changed at least for new stock in the last few months. The coil is also same as Racer 2. Again, new stock.

Oh ok. That's great to know.
Now how do you know if you're buying new stock? Lol
