What is your oldest find so far with the AT Pro?

My oldest find so far is an 1829 Half Dime that looks like it was dropped when it was brand new or hardly circulated at all. I have considered getting it professionally restored then graded by PCGS because of it's value, but even if I do that, I may still keep it just because it's my oldest coin (that I can see a date) I have. What is the oldest coin or item you have dug up with the AT Pro?

Very nice. :) Here's my half dime.

Nice Half Dime! I don't think I'll ever find a Bust coin here in Northern Cali. Need to set up an east coast trip.

Thanks Don. It seemed like I defeated the odds even though I live here! These aren't very common coins. They only made so many of them. That seated dime above is an excellent find too. I would have been more than happy with just that. :bouncy:

Nice old finds!

Back in the summer I found my oldest coin, a Sheng Tsu Chinese coin minted between 1661-1722. It was found between the railroad tracks and where the old hotel was. As for North American coins, my oldest is an 1844 Province of Canada half penny. Not bad considering my area wasn't settled until the early 1890's.

Not sure about the oldest find many things are impossible to date or to even I.D but my oldest coin is a 1819 spanish half reale.
And I want one of them there 1/2 dimes.

Oh yeah, and around 9 grams worth of gold nuggets (which are actually possibly millions of years old:rolleyes:) ranging from about half a gram up to two and a half grams each. Sorry no pix of nugs. Sold 'em for gas $.:blowup:
Great old finds you guys!:garrett::detecting:
Oh Leslie, how I envy those old finds from across the pond!:thumbup:
Happy Hunting!:)
Happy New Year!:biggrin:

Anything in NEbraska that we find 1880 or earlier is a bonus. We weren't a state until 1867. My oldest with the AT Pro is an 1864 Indian penny. 10 inches down next to a stump in one of the most hunted small parks around. Love the fact that I found a coin that was minted before we were a state and when Abe Lincoln was president.

Nice finds guys. :detecting: I want one of them there 1/2 Reales and Flying Eagle Cents. :)

My oldest find is a 1795 large cent.

That's one of the first ones. Very nice. Was it in good shape? Either way it's still impressive that you even found it.

n/t

It was worn but the date is perfectly legible. I have it soaking in olive oil now and will eventually post some pics once i take it out.
